It’s been a while since Google released its 10th iteration of its Pixel line, and with that comes the brand new Pixel 10 Pro Fold. And I am impressed with this year’s Pixel Fold. However, there are some things about this new phone that concern me.
Do you want to know about them all to make a sound buying decision? Great!
Let me walk you through them.
Brighter Display
This screen is near perfect for a foldable device. I used to consume content on my laptop – from Netflix to even checking social media, but this Foldable phone from Google has changed it.
Part of the reason is my high-speed fiber internet, which holds pretty well when I play 4K content on this gorgeous display. Why do I like this so much? Let me walk you through the specs to help you understand.
When unfolded, it has a beautiful 8-inch LTPO AMOLED display that clocks at a maximum of 120Hz, making it ultra-smooth.
Then it has enough pixel density to give images a distinct sharpness. On top of that, it is bright enough to watch content in the direct sunlight. I literally watched Dunkirk while sunbathing on a Miami beach on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and I had no problems with screen brightness.
Now, what if you want to use it when folded? That’s pretty great!
The outer display is just like a normal modern-day smartphone display. It is 120Hz and the size is 6.4-inch with perfect width. Previously, foldable had weirdly slim outer displays that didn’t feel or look nice to use.
But with this one, you would be more than satisfied using the Pixel 10 Pro Fold folded.
So, if display was one of your concerns, then don’t let it be, because they are great on this Fold.
Better Battery Life
This is where the title of this article comes in. I said it is a chunky phone, but I think it is worth it because of one major reason: the battery life.
Before this iteration of the Pixel Fold, all the other Folds had very little battery capacity, which had to power two displays (one of them being a really big one). So, it was only natural for them to struggle with the battery timing. Well, this isn’t the case anymore because this thick phone holds a sufficient battery capacity.
The chunkiness resulted in a 5015 mAh battery. But, how long does it last?
Well, I am a pretty heavy user. I use my phone for streaming matches, doing groceries, navigation, and more. Even with this high usage, I haven’t been able to kill this phone in a day. At the end of the day, I am left with around 10% of battery.
That said, if you use your phone for merely texts/calls, and some social media scrolling, it is an easy recommendation. Now, if you’re gaming on this phone and that too pretty heavily, it might not last the whole day, especially when using the big 8-inch display.
Now, evaluate accordingly whether it would be a fit for you or not in terms of battery.
Good Ol’ Stock Android Experience
Oh, and I love the stock Android experience on the Fold. It is clean and comes with tons of customization, which I adore as a hardcore Android user.
Out of the box, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold comes with Android 16. Also, Google has promised to update this phone up to Android 23, so you will be well set for the next 7 years if you want the latest Android version.
And, if you are planning to switch from an iPhone, you will have a pretty decent software experience, because it will feel kinda similar to iOS.
All in all, the software experience has been great for me.
Performance
Well, this is one of the aspects I don’t really like about the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The reason could be high expectations from the Tensor G5 chipset, but it is what it is.
When I compared it to the other phones in the market, like the Samsung Galaxy S25, the performance was very much subpar, and you will notice it when you game on the Pixel Fold.
As for the regular tasks like replying to an email, video calling your friends, and stuff like that, it will be pretty fine. You will see signs of weakness when you stress it out by playing multiplayer games on it. If you like to play games on your phone, then I suggest skipping the Pixel Fold and going with the Galaxy Fold 7.
The Price Point
Pricing is another thing that I don’t like about the new Pixel Fold.
It is freakin’ expensive as it starts at a whopping 1800 bucks. Looking at the performance figures and the hefty price tag, I don’t think it is worth it.
But…
If you are one of those few people, like me, who want a stock Android experience with better battery, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be worth it for you.
